About Us

Emily and Holly have combined their professional expertise and rural backgrounds to bring Primrose Care Farm to life, built around a care model that is both clinically informed and naturally enriching. Their approach is people-focused and rooted in the belief that care should enhance quality of life while respecting the tranquillity of its surroundings.

By blending their experience with a shared passion for compassionate care, they have created a welcoming day care setting that offers reassurance to families, meaningful engagement for attendees, and a positive contribution to the rural community.

Emily Thornton

Founder

Emily has over 16 years’ experience as a senior nurse in the NHS, with extensive knowledge across community and hospital settings. She specialises in supporting people living with dementia, working closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. Alongside her clinical career, Emily has strong ties to rural life, having grown up on her grandparents’ farm. Now a farmer’s wife and mother of five, she understands the countryside’s powerful role in supporting health and wellbeing.

Holly Bainbridge

Founder

Holly has a strong professional background in the care sector and is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support grounded in compassion, integrity, and practical experience. These values underpin the vision of the Primrose Dementia Care Farm facility. Coming from a farming background and now a farmer’s wife, Holly has a lifelong connection to the countryside and a deep understanding of rural life and land stewardship. She believes that calm, natural environments and meaningful outdoor activity can play a powerful role in supporting wellbeing, particularly for people living with dementia.
