Our Promise

Our Promise to You

Primrose Care Farm, provides a day care service based on a care-farming model that offers safe, meaningful and person-centred support for adults living with dementia.

Our approach is firmly grounded in the principles of the government’s Living Well with Dementia: A National Dementia Strategy, which emphasises early support, personalised and meaningful care, social connection and helping people with dementia live well for as long as possible. Everything we do is shaped by these principles and by a commitment to understanding the unique needs of every individual who attends our service.

We recognise that each person living with dementia has their own life experiences, routines and preferences. We therefore take time to understand each individual companion so that their needs are met through personalised care plans and appropriate risk assessments. Our care is person- centred, dementia-informed and activity-led, ensuring that support is tailored to each individual and that companions can engage in activities that are familiar, enjoyable and meaningful to them.

Our objective is to promote wellbeing, independence and dignity while reducing social isolation and supporting emotional, cognitive and physical health.

Primrose offers a range of nature-based and therapeutic activities. These include interaction with animals, gardening and horticulture, walking and outdoor engagement within the farm environment , reminiscence and sensory activities and social group activities that encourage communication, confidence and connection with others.

Our approach is holistic and compassionate, focusing on the whole person rather than the condition itself. By supporting physical, emotional, mental and social needs, we aim to reduce anxiety, confusion and distress while helping companions maintain a sense of purpose, independence and belonging.

The service is supported by trained staff who specialise in as dementia-aware support workers, with appropriate staff-to-participant ratios to ensure safety and quality of care. Staff receive ongoing training, supervision and support to maintain high standards of practice. Operating within clear safeguarding and risk management procedures to ensure that the service remains safe, supportive and responsive to the needs of all companions.
