A Few Words From Our Lovely Visitors

  • Joan's Review

I would be delighted to advertise my and my family's delight with Primrose Farm.

The Care you give is second to none and even though Keith forgets the day, he is always in a better frame of mind as that of the start of his day. I thank you all for that.

I would recommend you highly and have done so a number of times.

Here to a long association with Primrose Farm and very well done.

    Very best wishes,

    Joan

To Emma and all the fabulous team at Primrose:

Since Dad started visiting Primrose a couple of months ago, I felt I had just let you know how it has changed our lives for the better!  Dad was finding some social situations difficult to navigate due to his diagnosis, but coming to the Farm has massively changed this.  He is much more relaxed and happy and has  told us he feels genuinely cared for and valued.  It has been hugely important to us as a family, knowing that your fabulous team is giving Dad the space and time to be himself, to relax and enjoy his hobbies, helping him with his photography and gardening.

Dad thoroughly enjoys having the opportunity to choose a menu for lunch, be involved in the preparation of the lunch, and of course enjoying sitting down as a group to enjoy the food.  He has always enjoyed cooking, so to have this opportunity with support and enthusiasm from your team fills him with joy!  He loves taking part in gardening at the Farm.  You have given him back his freedom to do this in a safe environment.  He looks forward to his return each week to find out how his vegetables are coming along.

I have been telling others who are considering Primrose Care Farm, do not hesitate to come and see what is on offer, it provides such a unique caring, friendly environment for those living with Dementia.  People are treated with genuine care, given the freedom to choose activities they enjoy or just given the space to sit on the beautiful terrace with a cuppa, and take in the breathtaking views.  Just thank you. To Emma/ Holly and all the great team at Primrose Care Farm.

The whole concept of an outdoor care farm for people with dementia is amazing.  Since Don has been going along to Primrose he is shining when he comes home.  Eager in his own way to tell me what he has been doing during the day whilst there.

He is so relaxed and happy being there, coming from a farming background he has a great empathy with all the animals and takes great pride in having close contact with the pigs and donkeys.  When we are out and about on trips or holidays away from Primrose, we are constantly looking out for them.  On his first day Ruby his care companion told me he asked for a saddle so he could ride one of the donkeys, I did laugh.

As a younger man he had several pigs himself raising them to go to market and all this brings back these memories which he talks about often.

There’s something very special about being outdoors, the fresh air and the gently walks that he takes around the site and knowing that he is safe and he is looked after so well and cared for means so much.

However, it is not all about the outdoors, there are so many activities he can do when it is not possible to go outdoors, he dances which he loves doing (you would never believe I used to have to force him to get up and dance prior to his diagnoses), he does interactive activities, they also help with preparing their own lunches.  No wonder he is shattered when he comes home.

I have had no hesitation in telling other people to go along to Primrose Care Farm and see what it is all about and see what care they can provide for your loved ones.  I won’t pretend it is not the cheapest of places to attend but it is so so worth it, knowing that your loved one is cared for and valued as a person.

Having Primrose by my side is a great comfort to me personally, now and going forward into an unpredictable future.  I thank you all so much for your caring and support.

    Love you all
